Pancakes and Cinnamon Apples
My mom used to make this for me when I was younger, so I thought I’d give it a shot! The warm cinnamon apples are soo delicious! Easy to make too. Just toss some peeled and sliced apples into a pot with a knob of butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of lemon juice. Reduce the liquid in the bottom of a pot for a nice apple/cinnamon sauce. Great on top of the pancakes! With maple...
Salmon Burgers & Beef Burgers
Kevin and I decided to make burgers this weekend! Today we made salmon burgers/sandwiches! They were super yummy. I prepped the salmon the same as I always do, the only difference this time is that I added a drizzle of honey and lemon/garlic aioli (and it was on a bun…). The lemon/garlic aioli was delicious! It would go great with any fish! It’s just some light mayo, lemon juice,...
Salmon and Roasted Eggplant on Brown Rice
I have been roasting eggplant a lot lately! Well, I have been roasting every vegetable… roasting just makes things taste better. This is my first time using brown rice. Maybe I should try cooking it in a pot next time… not sure if my rice cooker did the job! I kinda wish it was softer… but apparently brown rice is sort of chewy. What is brown rice normally like for you? 0:
Sweet Potato Fries & Chicken Stew on Rice
Mmm, Sweet potato fries! Super easy. Peel, cut, rinse, dry, olive oil, salt, pepper, throw it in the oven to roast at 400 degrees F for 30 min on one side, then flip them over and let them cook for another 10-15 more minutes. Basically the same way was prepping carrot fries!
My stews are never photogenic… But that’s okay! I think. Just winged this one. I didn’t know what...
Buffalo Wings
Since I was busy making quiche and curry today, I made Kevin handle the wings! He used this website for the recipe and instructions: http://foodwishes.blogspot.ca/2010/04/original-buffalo-chicken-wing-sauce.html
Overall, the texture of these were great! These didn’t need to be fried in order to get a nice crispy coating. The sauce for these wings were rather vinegar-y/acidic. Perhaps that...

S'mores Break
S’mores break!! Law is hurting my feelings, so I thought S’more would make it better! Take a large marshmallow and rip it in half. Place the half marshmallow, sticky side up, on a graham cracker. Stick 7 semi-sweet chocolate chips onto the marshmallow. Make sure to prepare two graham crackers as so for uno s’more! Toast it in the oven for like… I don’t know. Not...
On the Fly Chicken Curry #1
My curry never turns out the way I want it, so I am now experimenting until I get it right! This attempt wasn’t bad! But there is still something missing… I will figure it out one day! Does anybody know how to make awesome curry? Below is a list of ingredients I used this time around!
Ingredients Used: - Chicken thighs
- Onion - Garlic - Carrots - Potatoes - Ginger - Curry Powder -...
Scalloped Potatoes
Just made scalloped potatoes, and boy they are super heavy. I think next time I will throw in green onions. Maybe that will make it seem a bit lighter. Haha. Give them a try! Kind of tedious to put together though. Mostly because of potato slicing involved… but yeah. c:
SCALLOPED POTATOES INGREDIENTS 5 potatoes, thinly sliced ½ small onion, thinly sliced ¼ cup green onions, chopped 1...
Chocolate Chip Muffins
These chocolate chip muffins are quick, easy, and make a great snack! Microwave them for like, 20 seconds and they are dellicciioouusss. Messy though. Melty chocolate is messy… Recipe below!

Ham and Potato Soup
Exam one is down, so I decided to relax and make soup? Haha. This ham and potato soup is really super delicious! It is very popular on All-Recipes. You can find the recipe here.
Hmm, I haven’t posted in a while! I would have, but I kind of forgot to take pictures of some things I made. Recently made tiramisu and a New York style cheesecake with a fresh strawberry sauce. Both were...

Quick Salmon Meal
Too lazy to make an elaborate meal today, so salmon it is! I just pan seared salmon with shallots and garlic. The fish is seasoned with salt, pepper, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar and lemon. I would usually throw in some ginger, but I didn’t have any on hand. Oh well. It was still good!
Spaghetti (& recipe for Asian styled braised beef...
For some reason, Kevin is never tired of pasta. He likes anything in bulk quantity. I usually make him pasta with this sauce which is a basic scratch-made tomato sauce with Italian sausage. Although this is waayy more work than using a jarred pasta sauce, it tastes waaayyy better too!
INGREDIENTS 2-3 Italian sausages, removed from casing*** olive oil splash of chicken stock 1 medium onion,...
Braised Beef Short Ribs w/ Green onion and lemon...
Bah. Snowing outside! Luckily, I had these super hearty beef short ribs to cook! This was an amazing meal. Super duper fatty though. It took so long to spoon out the fat. You should still give it a try though. Since the beef was super heavy, I decided to change up my mashed potatoes a bit to provide some contrast. I added some lemon zest and fresh green onions to cut the fat of the beef. Soo...
Chicken Congee
Easy meal tonight. Surprisingly tasty considering what is in it! Great for when you are sick! Western people drink chicken soup, Chinese people eat congee. Haha
INGREDIENTS 4 Chicken Thighs (skin on, bone in) Salt and pepper 1 cup of uncooked rice 1 carton (900 mL) of chicken stock 5-6 cups of water small knob of ginger (peeled and chopped into thick medallions) salt and white pepper to...
Braised Chicken on Rice with Roasted Carrots
Today I made braised chicken! It was pretty yummy. I seasoned the bone-in skin-on chicken thighs with Cajun seasoning, ground ginger, cumin and all-spice. This flavour combination is really nice! It warms you up. After searing the chicken, I threw in some onions, shallots, garlic, and chicken stock to de-glaze the bottom of the pot. Put the chicken back in to braise for 20 min or so, then took...
Prime Rib Roast Dinner w/ Mashed Potatoes and...
Tonight I made a prime rib roast for dinner since Kevin was coming over and I know he doesn’t eat until he arrives at like, 9:30. The prime rib roast was slathered in a garlic butter, salt and pepper and roasted for… well, a very long time. Mashed potatoes are just made with potatoes, milk, butter, salt and pepper. Nothing special this time around. I usually put Parmesan cheese and...
Funfetti(Rainbow) Cake
Was feeling nostalgic and decided to make one of those rainbow sprinkle cakes! Oh how I love sprinkles. They are just so colourful and happy (and delicious). Haven’t eaten it yet, but cake is cake! Can’t be too bad! Recipe below. c:
INGREDIENTS
1 ½ cups sugar ½ cup unsalted butter, softened 1 ¼ cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla 3 eggs
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

Crispy Roasted Potatoes
These roasted potatoes make a great side! They are rather time consuming to make though… but totally worth it!
I am not sure how to quantify the ingredient amounts because I do eye-ball it for the most part.
INGREDIENTS
3 large russet potatoes, cubed 3 shallots, halved with skin on 3 large cloves of garlic, bruised with skin on
salt pepper paprika olive oil
DIRECTIONS

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Today I made oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They actually turned out pretty good! They are tasty. Even though I don’t really care for the oats, it adds a nice chew to the cookies. I use crunchy peanut butter for this recipe since it was all I had. I actually like the little bits of peanuts in it. Give it a try!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter (room temperature) 1/2 cup...
